Lena Huda
Lena Huda is the President of WalkSydney and co-founder of 30Please and safe-streets-to-school.org. She grew up on a residential street in Germany, where 30kmh speed limits were implemented in the 1980s.
Before moving to Australia in 2019, Lena was working in senior positions for major investment banks in London.
Inspired by the successful '20 [mph] is Plenty for Us' campaign from the UK, her focus is on 30kmh limits: an evidence-backed, low-cost measure that enables more walking and cycling, save lives, prevents injuries, promotes stronger communities and, therefore, reduces health inequalities, obesity, air pollution and CO2 emissions. Lena lives with her Australian husband and four children in Wollongong.
