Megan Sharkey is a city transformation and transition specialist with a talent for connecting top-down strategic thinking with bottom-up innovation and behaviour change.
Megan is passionate about systems thinking, resiliency, urban planning, and strategic sustainability, and has developed numerous programs bringing meaningful action for sustainability and the improved health of people and cities.
She envisages future cities that integrate planning, buildings, and lifestyles harmoniously with the environment so future generations have better health, technology and way of life.
A Doctor of Philosophy in Urban Studies and Affairs, Megan completed her studies at the University of Westminster in London, researching government barriers to the development of active transport, and identifying templates for change for community movements.
She was a member of the Board of Trustees for the London Cycling Campaign and a Chair of the Cyclesafe Network in Newcastle, Australia.
